- Program consisted of three semester long areas of focus: Scientific Research I develops scientific reading comprehension and critical thinking, Scientific Research II challenges students to identify an individual mentor within the scientific field, review journal articles on topics related to study and must complete a summer research project, Scientific Research III, develops student skills in scientific writing and oral presentations as students write an abstract and prepare a professional poster
- Worked with Dr. Carey Shive and Dr. Donald Anthony to analyze blood samples and performed statistical analysis using Flow Cytometry programs
- Conducted research analyzing CD57 an PD1 isotype expressions on live gated CD3+ and CD8+ T-Cell
- Concluded that PD-1’s isotype expressions were unexpected on live gated CD3+ and CD8+ cells where as CD57’s isotype expressions were expected on live gated CD3+ and CD8+
- Completed over 250 hours of practical on-site work in a lab environment
- Compiled data, analyzed results, and presented findings to Case department heads and Hawken’s scientific panel
