My name is Mason Hart. I am a goalkeeper for Sporting Kansas City Academy, playing at both U17 and U19 levels. I attend Park Hill South High School in Riverside, MO but my commitment to SKC does not allow me to play high school soccer. My permanent residence is Sandy, UT where I enjoy skiing, hiking, mountain biking, and playing basketball.
I am interested in Mechanical Engineering or some type of engineering. While I love the sport of soccer and the discipline of a training program, education is also very important to me. I also enjoy working with kids. I volunteer as a mentor with the Global Futbol Community, an organization that provides youth refugees access to quality soccer opportunities in Kansas City.
I have played soccer since I was four years old. I’ve played in many leagues and tournaments across the United States including Surf Cup, Dallas Cup, ODP Championships, Utah State Cup, Desert Premier League, and National League. I also played overseas at the Hearts of Midlothian Invitational in Edinburg, Scotland while representing the West Region ODP team. As a result of that tournament, I was chosen as the starting keeper for the US ODP team that played against Northern Ireland’s Youth National Team.
My freshman year of high school I was recruited by Sporting Kansas City. I moved to Kansas City the summer of 2019, live with a host family, attend school, and played in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy, now known as MLS Next. The pandemic has limited the amount of games that SKC participates in within MLS Next, yet I still receive top notch training on a daily basis including occasionally training with Sporting’s USL team, Sporting II. It is with this training and past experiences, that I would be a great asset to your program.
