VAPING TODAY TOWN HALL: Vaping-Attention to Prevention and I organized a presentation at the Medical Association of Atlanta’s Vaping Today Town Hall.

WORLD NO TOBACCO DAY ADVOCACY: I worked with the American Heart Association and NCD Child to advocate before and during World No Tobacco Day.

INTERVIEWED FOR MOVIE/DOCUMENTARY “YOU DON’T KNOW NICOTINE”: We discussed the dangers of tobacco and e-cigarette with director, Aaron Biebert.

“WE WILL NOT BE PAWNS IN THEIR GAME OF CHESS”: I Co-Authored an article titled “We Will Not be Pawns in Their Game of Chess” which was featured in the Gwinnett Voice and the Conversationalist. This article helped inform our community on the strategies used by the tobacco and e-cigarette industry to lure in teens.

ATLANTA JOURNAL CONSTITUTION: After benefiting my community through meetings with lawmakers and spreading awareness on the harmful effects of youth vaping, we as an organization (Vaping-Attention to Prevention) were spotlighted in an Atlanta Journal Constitution article.

INTERVIEW WITH DR. PANAGIS GALIATSATOS FROM JOHNS HOPKINS UNIVERSITY: I interviewed Dr. Galiatsatos on his groundbreaking case study that was the first to show the effects of second hand vape.

SUBSTANCE ABUSE PREVENTION ADVOCACY DAY 2020: I spoke at the Substance Abuse Prevention Advocacy Day in the Georgia State capital to show a teens perspective on the spread of e-cigarettes in our high schools and community.

SUBSTANCE ABUSE PREVENTION ADVOCACY DAY 2021 (virtual): I was a speaker at the 2021 virtual Substance Abuse Prevention Advocacy Day Rally.

GOVERNOR BRIAN KEMP: I was able to have the amazing opportunity of meeting Georgia Governor Brian Kemp after speaking at the Substance Abuse Prevention Advocacy Day in the Georgia State Capitol. I discussed VA2P’s mission and why the e-cigarette industry needs to be strongly regulated.

CONGRESSMAN ROB WOODALL: As an advocate for the American Heart Association, I was able to speak with Congressman Rob Woodall on the harmful effects of flavorings in electronic cigarettes during the Cure on the Hill Lobby Day. As an advocate for Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids, I was able to meet with Congressman Rob Woodall to advocate for house bill HR 2339

REPRESENTATIVE BONNIE RICH: I was able to interview Representative Bonnie Rich on her bill that intends to restrict youth access to electronic cigarettes and increase taxes.

SENATOR RENEE UNTERMAN: I interviewed Senator Renee Unterman to gather important information on her new Senate Bill 298 GEORGIA SENATE BILL 298: I testified for Senate Bill 298 to show how teens have been negatively affected by the e-cigarette epidemic. This Senate Bill helped enforce Tobacco 21 and punished retailers that sold to underage teens.
