My name is Mia Elle Ries, I am 16 years old, and currently a Junior at Union Grove HS in Henry County, GA. Soccer means much more to me than one may think. Soccer is my outlet…every time I step on the field, my stress disappears. I get a sense of freedom when I play, I give everything I have on the field and absolutely love the sport. I crave the competitiveness of soccer. I welcome being pushed by my teammates and coaching staff to reach my full potential as a player. Soccer has taught me crucial lessons I will carry throughout my life. The teamwork, social, interpersonal, and communication skills I have learned are priceless. Soccer is a huge part of my life; but, my academics are equally important. I have never been the type of student who does the “least amount of work possible”, or to just “get by”. I believe if you do something, you do it to the best of your ability. I strive to show this in the classroom and on the field. Other than school and soccer, I enjoy being outside, hiking with my family and spending time with our golden retriever, Phoebe.

My goal is to take my soccer career to the next level and represent a University as a Student-Athlete. I’m confident I have the strength, speed, drive, determination, skills, passion, and commitment to play soccer at the next level. Academics are very important to me, as mentioned in my bio. However, ultimately, I am driven to do both – to continue my playing career into College, while also working hard to complete my Undergraduate education. I am currently in dual-enrollment, taking college level courses along with HS.
